This release brings several improvements and bug fixes to streamline your rigging workflow:
Mesh Cleanup: Fix
Resolved an issue with Blender 4.4.x not installing.
Remove Armature and Remove Weights now have their separate buttons.
🧠 Core Purpose
Originally developed to solve persistent armature naming issues when working with Character Creator, AccuRig, or Mixamo, Them Bones offers scalable solutions that adhere to Blender’s naming conventions. The Rig List currently includes these armature types, with plans to expand as new presets become available. Whether used as part of the Dynamic Pose Library Premium or as a stand-alone add-on, Them Bones provides a versatile bone renaming tool for any Blender armature.
🦴 Bone Name Import Fixes
Resolved an issue with importing bone names—whether from the rig list or from a file name. You’ll also find the bundled snake_bone.txt file, which enables renaming for the provided Snake Blender file.
🧹 Mesh Cleanup Upgrade
Mesh cleanup now removes both Vertex Groups and the Armature in a single click. No more relying on auto-clickers—this update handles it with ease. Bonus: the add-on remains hidden unless the object includes weights or a rig, keeping your N-Panel clutter-free.
⚙️ Blender 4.4.x Compatibility
Updated to comply with Blender’s latest add-on structure. In Blender 4.4.x, DPL - Them Bones now appears in the Extensions tab. The same .zip works as an add-on for Blender versions 2.92.x and above.
🚨 Important Reminder
Before uninstalling a previous version, be sure to back up any custom bone renaming files! You’ll need to remove DPL-ThemBones-v1.0.7 manually before installing v1.1.0.
